Saturday 5th January 2008

This morning we woke up for yet another journey ahead of us. Ps Bev set an alarm on her phone to wake us up for a 6am start, but forgot to change her phone to Chennai time. (she woke us up at 3am instead...oops) At the moment we are heading from Chennai to Visakapatnam on a long 14hr train trip. When we arrived at the train station this morning it was crowded with lots and lots of people. We waited patiently for an hour for our train to arrive. Maddi
I had an awesome conversation with an extremely well read Hindu writer on the train. Turns out he’s read the Bible, all of Shakespeare’s works, F Scott Fitzgerald, James Joyce, you name it. I found him to be enlightening and very switched on to spiritual concepts. We shall continue to converse via email. Another young Indian couple nearby overheard our conversation and wanted to ask me some questions about God. While sharing with them, 2 businessmen were attentively listening in too. God is on the move! Eliazar’s wife Ruth met us at the train station and we travelled in the New Hope bus to our hotel for a good sleep. Beautiful room. 100 channels. 98 of them either Indian music videos (Bollywood meets MTV), Bollywood movies or news that was frighteningly reminiscent of the Russian news readers on the Comedy Company 15 years ago (Oh Wictor, you are wery unattwactive!). I love this country! Pete.
