I can’t believe we’re here was what was going through my mind once we arrived in Chennai. We hopped off our plane and walked to a nearby bus where we would then go to the hotel we are staying at (blue diamond). Far-out!!! Talk about road rage. It was hard enough getting across the road because the cars would not stop so whenever there was a brake you would just have to run across. It is amazing all the cars are out of control, there are no lanes so people just drive any-where, any-way. And if they want to overtake someone else they just BEEP BEEP BEEP. But I love it because when you are in the car your constantly on the edge of your seat (without a seatbelt) wondering what’s going to happen next. There’s India for ya.

Today we went to a huge shopping plaza. I did not buy anything at all. Neither did dad, Craig or Eliazar Rose. We were bored but we went past the same guy 6 times as we walked around aimlessly. He kept asking us to go into his shop which was full of elephant gods! We then ate lunch and went to another elephant god shop. Zzzz! The girls bought some beautiful Punjabis.
Elijah !
Eliazar took Tony, Bev and me down a little street opposite our hotel when we got back from the plaza. Cows grazing on the filth then lining up to be milked, people going to the toilet on the railway tracks (they don’t have toilets in their little units) and street vendors selling yummy samosa and Chai tea. Sensory overload. Time for bed me thinks! Pete.

Oooh - how exciting to turn on the computer in the morning, clilck on your blog and see new posts! I am 'so' living vicariously through all of you! It's great that you all have a turn writing too - Elijah did you write yours all on your own? Very good! And so interesting!
You girls look great in your punjabi outfits - great to help you blend in. The scarves are great for many things - keeping the sun off, wiping hands & face, keeps the dust out of your mouth and great for being incognito - sunglasses & wrap scarf around head and across mouth & nose -try it. When in a car on the road look at Indians in the car with you - if they look unworried then relax!!! and those horns I can even hear them now.
Sunday: Had a great morning in John 5. God Bless KEVIN & RAYLEE
