Monday 4th February 2008

Well yesterday afternoon when we arrived back at our hotel from the big day, we were asked what time we wanted to start today. 9am? We said thinking to get a little sleep in. Obviously it was the wrong answer! More like 7am, he said. We talked him into it being 8am but it felt like we were bartering at a store down in the Indian markets. So this morning I woke up to Mahalia snoring (zzzzzz), so I guess even if we did get to stay till 9am I would’ve woken up early anyway. Hesitatingly we hopped in the car knowing we had yet another 5 hours ahead of us. The scenery was spectacular. The mountains are so huge in the Himalayas. We saw lots of little villages and people carrying huge loads on their backs with a strap around their foreheads holding the load. Once we arrived in Pokhara we went on a little canoe (that we all thought was going to sink) for a row down the lake to a little island in the middle of the lake with a little temple on it. On the way home we stopped at a little restaurant by on another little island in the middle of the lake and thought it was nice so we booked a table for tomorrow night for the birthday girl (me)!!! Very exciting. Reading time! we thought passing a book shop on the way home. Us kids got some books to keep us occupied while we were in the hotel. Stopped off at some jewellery shops, and came back to the hotel. Good night. Maddi
