Oh the bliss of sleeping in! Actually, Kaz and I still woke up at 7 but Maddi slept till after 10. The others headed off for a day of snorkelling while the Griswalds stayed to veg for the day, catch up on some maths, get henna tattoos and play in the ocean which, by the way, is right outside our balcony. The view from our room is absolutely spectacular. After 2½ hours on the world’s slowest internet connection trying to upload this blog, we finished the day with a beautiful seafood dinner in the resort next door which is closed for the low season but Mohammed met the owner and convinced him to open the kitchen and cook a couple of fish he’d caught today. Delicioso! Pete

Oh my goodness you guys! Life has been nothing but hectic since I got back and I have missed you all so much! I even went away this weekend to Poland, so I didn't even have the weekend to sit down and catch my breath. We went to Auschwitz concentration camp and it was devastating. I cried a lot. Definitely too sensitive for that kind of thing. Your pictures of Zanzibar help to make me even more determined to do Nairobi to Vic Falls next July - it looks like heaven on earth! Oh, tell Ghino that I saw her malachite bracelets at Nairobi airport for $20 each! She got an amazing bargain to get 6 for $19!! But then again we'd expect nothing less from our star barterer huh? What will I do, trying to travel next year without her to help me!?
Miss you all and would love to hear from you or Ghino or Jock any time. My little surrogate family! Continue having an amazing time, and continue uploading those amazing stories and pictures!
Much, much love, Carolyn xxxxxxx
Happy Birthday for yesterday, Kaz! Thinking of you and enjoying your blog very much. Hope you had a special day.
Enormous love,
The Gero Hoskings
